Research Assistant recruitment takes place after successfully completing the course and its assigned projects.

Voluntary Research Position

This is a voluntary research position designed to provide hands-on experience and professional development in computational biology and bioinformatics research.

Requirements

All requirements must be met to qualify for the Research Assistant position

Academic Requirements

  • Strong motivation for research
  • Clear plans for future MSc/PhD studies in computational biology or bioinformatics

 

Program Enrollment

  • Completed the OmicsBD training program (basic Bioinformatics plus any advanced course/training)

 

Time Commitment

  • 15–20 hours per week
  • Preferably evenings or weekends
  • Flexible during exam periods

 

Personal Qualities

  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Dedicated and passionate about data-driven biological research

 

Weekly Meetings

  • Attend weekly online meetings every Sunday
  • Time: 9:00–11:00 PM (BST)

 

Ethics & Commitment

  • Uphold research ethics at all times
  • Maintain 12–18 month commitment to complete assigned projects
  • Willing to mentor or assist junior researchers during collaborative lab activities
